Interesting phenomenon: I did a test search for a jumble of characters (asdas) and the spelling advice recommended “asdasd”. Seems that this is a more common garbage entry.
The crude attempt at screening out “offensive” Web content just seems silly/cowardly.
How does blocking certain phrases (including such filth as “cock a hoop” and “caber tosser”)(did I just get this page banned?) make the Web search better/safer? The BBC isn’t just for children, and children aren’t protected by simplistic text filtering.
