Usability assessment of “The Brain”

From the CHI-Web list, Kristen Truong, an IA for Covisint publishes a critique of “The Brain” from a usability standpoint. Interesting to see a real-world study of the few real-world applications of novel visualisation/navigation around.

  1. Matt, thanks a lot for this link. I have to follow this list more closely.

I know you’ve heard to TouchGraph before, having responded to the post on Peterme in early June.

Since then I have made some progress on the tool, and although it is still not quite ready to be used, you might be interested in taking a look.

Specifically, check out this visualization of the memes.net database:
    http://www.touchgraph.com/memes.net.html
it takes a while to load, but it’s worth it. For the lates developments, make sure to check out the GraphLayout applet.

    Thanks,

    –Alex
