Flash moves towards the rulespace of the web with it’s new version: with embedded, exploitable information about it’s structure.
Named Anchors
Develop usable user interfaces and applications that ensure the best experience for your viewers. With named anchors, Macromedia Flash MX content can now be bookmarked, allowing for the use of the browser Back and Forward buttons.
I think that the Back/Forward buttons still only work on Windows, since this is feature uses a JS call to the browser. It’s nice to see it semi-automatically implemented by Flash though.
And apparently you still won’t be able to bookmark those named anchors. I mean it’s an improvement and all, but in many ways Flash is still just catching up with long-established hypertext standards. Another grand finally in MX is some pre-packaged UI widgets.
