It still works, and I still use it, but more and more for recalling details of the past for various bureaucracies. I’m still proud of what we did as a little team there.

I miss Dopplr. I used it for a short while as a kind of virtual lash in which my promiscuous travel behaviour would manifest itself on Dopplr as welts, that would be my penance. I failed to stick with it, of course.
I’ve only recently moved across to tripit, and it took me much longer (years, in fact) than it probably should have. Dopplr was, and remains, so perfect in so many ways. It’s very rare that such a strong combination of solid UX, beautiful design and a killer concept come together in a way that empowers the user and inspires them to use the product and get out in the world. It’s such a crying shame that nokia did what it did with it.
You should be proud of it. I still use it.
Likewise – I hope it stays around.
